Lotus Domestic Abuse Recovery Programme
A 6-week safe, friendly group combining educational and therapeutic sessions for women living in East Sussex or Brighton & Hove whose lives have been impacted by domestic abuse, but who are now safe. The group supports women to process their experience, develop confidence and keep themselves and any children they may have safe from abuse in the future.
Who’s in Charge?
A 9-week safe, friendly group combining educational and therapeutic sessions for parents in East Sussex or Brighton & Hove, whose children are verbally or physically abusive and whose behaviour seems beyond their control. The programme aims to;
- Support and empower parents
- Encourage practical changes usually in terms of rules and consequences. Unlike mainstream parenting advice which assumes that children are co-operative, most parents that attend our programme have children who have stopped co-operating, often appear to care about very little, may deliberately sabotage parents’ attempts to apply consequences, or may escalate their violence when parents implement behavioural control strategies
- Reinforce these changes and cover some advanced topics
Being Mum Programme
A 6-week safe, friendly group combining educational and therapeutic sessions for new first-time mothers living in East Sussex and Brighton & Hove. The group is aimed at mothers whose babies were born within the last year with the aim to help keep them and their baby safe and well. The transition to parenthood brings a lot of challenges and changes, and can be a particularly isolating time. Being Mum supports women to feel more comfortable discussing these issues and helps them to build friendships with other new mothers in their local area.
Volunteer Family Support Service
The Volunteer Home-Visiting Service is for families with at least one pre-school child or pregnant women who live in East Sussex. The aim is to increase the safety, wellbeing, confidence and independence of families. Their lovely trained volunteer-parents provide a kind listening ear, working with parents with any issues they may be facing.
